Everyday life with its routine often leads to monotony. Sometimes it’s enough just to make a small walk outside the hustle of the city. Your mood will change rapidly in positive way and you will be filled with energy. It works for me at least.
For me that walk is in part of the city which is not much visited by the locals. It’s in the old city, so you can mostly meet tourists there. But in this time of the year only few tourists can be seen.
It takes only 15 minutes walk from the city noise to come to the peace. It’s a real serenity. It begins from the pine forest. Although there are paths, I enjoy wandering the woods where there’s none. Than I’m coming to the path that leads to my favorite place of the city; the most photographed church in Ohrid, St. John Kaneo, build in XIII century, standing on a rock above the lake.
Than this spectacular view is welcoming me.
I’m just sitting there for a while. enjoying the whole scenery and peace. Every time it feels unique, no matter which time of the year I’m visiting. After I recharge the batteries I continue down the hill, but always turn back to enjoy a bit more of this beauty. If you google Ohrid, most possible you will see something like this:
Sometimes I walk back to the city by the lake and again turn back, to see this:
I have to say I am lucky to live in this kind of place and I should definitely make this kind of walks more often.
